Courses and Workshops taught
THEA 221: Introduction to Performance (Teacher of Record), University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
Students were introduced to the concept of performing through games and improvisation techniques, then slowly built a foundation of techniques stemming from Uta Hagen, Stella Adler, Stanislavsky, Richard Boleslavsky, Laban, and LeCoq to create a reality for themselves and their character in front of others. The class led to a performed monologue utilizing all of the techniques covered in the class to communicate a character’s wants and needs to the class. Taught two sections over four semesters, 2018-2020.
Introduction to Long-Form Improvisation, Co-Taught with Emily Steward
This workshop was a brief introduction to creating a unique Long-Form improvisation form, drawing from various existing Long-Forms (Harold, Armando Diaz, etc.) and our own personal experience in creating Murder at the Victorian Estate. Held at the KCACTF Region VII Festival, 2020.
